Add to Itinerary

Description

Located opposite Kooringal Golf Course on Queen Street, the Truganina Explosives Reserve has a unique history, once having been a storage facility for explosive materials. It comprises an historic homestead and underkeeper's residence, adjacent to an important conservation reserve.

The Explosives Reserve is a unique part of Victorian industrial history and now serves as a conservation site providing shelter and habitat for the endangered Altona skipper butterfly with a stand of chaffy saw-sedge (Gahnia filum).
