Add to Itinerary

Description

Take an unexpected journey on foot through Melbourne’s CBD with this self-guided tour that takes you down secret paths, laneways and arcades for a quintessentially Melbourne experience.

This self-guided tour features three different paths celebrating urban design initiatives across the central city that have contributed to Melbourne’s unique character and urban culture while also creating a more walkable city.

What's On

Venture down laneways of old and explore contemporary pathways through the city to see how Melbourne’s iconic network of arcades and laneways has expanded over time through various urban design initiatives. Visitors can download or collect a map to explore sites across the central city during the weekend and beyond.

Children's Activities

This is a great self-guided tour for young people who are interested in urban design or in the history of Melbourne’s development. As a self-guided tour, it can be explored at your own pace and with family and friends, too.
