Umina, built in 1876, features bay windows, tower and a gabled steeply pitched slate roof. It has high ceilings, a butler’s station and distinctive woodwork. The Edna Walling garden features lily ponds, wisteria pergolas, stonework and mature trees. The Country Women’s Association of Victoria Inc. purchased the property in 1948.
Guided tours through the original building and garden will run across the weekend. For the first time, the Association archives room will be open, along with the State President’s bedroom. Devonshire tea will be available for purchase.
