In Collaboration With:

  • Julian Kosloff, Director at Kosloff Architecture

As a co-founder, Julian sees architecture as the medium for compelling narratives and distinctive outcomes that can be embraced by all stakeholders. Reaching an outcome that is both ambitious and tailored to the needs of each client requires the assembly of the right team. Equally important, however, is facilitating the development of authentic relationships and a shared vision of what is possible. Julian believes that the integrity of the outcome is dependent upon the quality of the process and approach. A willingness to accept that multiple solutions may exist is fundamental to eliciting meaningful contributions from all parties involved. Letting go of preconceived ideas regarding what the solution might be is essential. Rigorously interrogating not only the functional drivers of a project, but also the emotional and conceptual principles that form meaningful and enduring architecture. Julian has been a Founding Director of architectural practices for over twenty years. During this time, he has been a Director in charge of many award-winning projects in public and private sectors, including institutional, educational, commercial and urban design. He is actively involved in RMIT, Monash University, and University of Melbourne Schools of Architecture, through lecturing, guest critic and moderating roles.

  • Stephanie Bullock, Director at Kosloff Architecture

As the co-founder of Kosloff Architecture, Stephanie believes that the creation of an authentic and engaged practice culture is integral to producing high quality and lasting architectural design. She is committed to building a workplace that is highly aspirational in terms of what it provides for the people that work there, and also to collaborators and the broader community. Stephanie is a member of the Victorian Australian Institute of Architects Chapter Council, and sits on a number of AIA committees including the Practice of Architecture Committee, Sustainable Architecture Committee and Gender Equity and Diversity Committee. She also sits on the Victorian Enabling Architecture Committee which advocates and advises on technical matters of enabling design in the Australian built environment. The committee is concerned with many elements of design for people with mobility and movement impairments, as well as sensory impairments and cognitive and other neurological issues which may create challenges for way-finding, and where good design responses better enable people to work, learn, recreate and experience wellbeing in the spaces they regularly use.
