The Former Princes Bridge Lecture Room, completed in 1917, was a purpose-built training facility by the Victorian Railways Department for railway staff, as part of the electrification of the Melbourne suburban railway network. In 1999, the City of Melbourne identified the historic red-brick building located in the proposed Birrarung Marr park as a potential venue for a unique child focused arts space in central Melbourne.
