116 Rokeby

Carr (architecture and interiors), Figurehead Group (client and builder), Eckersley Garden Architecture 2024 (landscape).

Description

This 11-storey commercial building, designed by Carr and located in an urban industrial site in Collingwood, pushes sustainability and longevity in a new direction.

The design was based around the vision of creating a breathing space, harnessing abundant natural light, controlled fresh air, spatial adaptability and environmental sustainability to shape the building's ultimate form.

What's On

Presented by Project Designer and Director Stephen McGarry, the tour will showcase the project's passive design measures and ethos, particularly the diaphanous double skin facade to the north, which is used to control heat and ventilate the floor plates with maximum daylight in the tenancies.

The tour will also highlight the holistic planning of the building and showcase its southern façade, which acts as a permanent canvas for a commissioned First Nations artwork that respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land.
