Prahran Skate Park
Description
The Prahran Skate Park and Basketball Court is a transformative public space that merges nontraditional sports with urban life, revitalising a previously one-dimensional space into a lively dynamic hub for recreation, social interaction and cultural identity in the heart of Prahran.
We are inviting visitors to Prahran for a guided tour of Prahran Skate Park to learn about its colourful story and how the City of Stonnington and internationally-renowned skate park designers and landscape architects Convic have reinvented this space.
Using innovative design and textural material selection, Convic have created a groundbreaking project that enhances Prahran’s public realm, fosters inclusivity, activates the surrounding urban space and provides a model for the future development of public spaces across Australian cities.
What's On
Bring your family and friends and learn how to skateboard on one of Australia’s best open access skateparks with Prahran local and former World Cup Champion and Paris Olympics head judge, Renton Millar.
Join a guided tour of Prahran Skate Park presented by Georgina Hagger from the City of Stonnington’s major projects team and Bryce Hinton from internationally-renowned skate park designers Convic.
You'll also have the chance to view jaw-dropping demonstrations on the vertical ramp by some of Australia’s best young local vert skateboarders and see how pivotal this project has been to the local community. Â
A booking fee waiver for the Skate Clinic is made possible thanks to City of Stonnington.
Children's Activities
There will be two 30-minute skate clinics for kids—best for beginners and those with a little bit of experience.
