Wander through Melbourne’s CBD with this self-guided tour that will lead you down secret paths, laneways and arcades for a quintessentially Melbourne experience. The tour will provide a suggested pathway through laneways that have contributed to Melbourne’s unique character and urban culture, while also recommending detours to other iconic laneways along the way. 

What's On

Take an unexpected journey on foot through Melbourne’s CBD with this self-guided tour. Venture down laneways of old and explore contemporary pathways through the city to see how Melbourne’s iconic network of arcades and laneways has expanded over time, through various urban design initiatives.

Visitors can download or collect a map to explore sites across the central city over the weekend and after.

Children's Activities

This is a great self-guided tour for young people who are interested in urban design, or in the history of Melbourne’s development. As a self-guided tour, it can be explored by children with friends or as a family with children.
