Waterfront: Commuter Afloat
As our city stretches and our population grows, the commuter experience has become a dreaded, sometimes isolating struggle. New approaches to moving us around our city are needed and water-based transit could offer one alternative. Join us for an on board conversation about where the water in Melbourne can take us as we travel to Jacks Magazine on the Maribyrnong for the Jack’s Reloaded: Material as Memory exhibition. Tickets will include boat transportation from Melbourne CBD to Jack’s Magazine, entry to Jack’s Magazine to view the exhibition, and return trip to the Melbourne CBD.

Victoria is an Principal Environmental Consultant at AECOM in Melbourne. She has worked across the Asia-Pacific Region focussing on delivering city resilience, climate change adaptation and urban nature-based solutions. As a social and environmental scientist, she is acutely interested in the interactions between people and nature and the many challenges this presents for cities in the 21st Century.
Jack’s Reloaded: Material as Memory sees Jack’s Magazine opens its doors for a unique site specific exhibition of moving image, sound and installation works. Artists examine and extrapolate Victoria’s cultural narratives through an analysis of the material history of basalt within the framework of deep time. For exhibition details head here.
