Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation (GLaWAC) represents Traditional Owners from the Brataualung, Brayakaulung, Brabralung, Krauatungalung and Tatungalung family clans. It is tasked with actively protecting culture, lands and waters, bringing strength, knowledge, skills and innovation to this role.
We open the Waterfront program in East Gippsland with a very special series of connected events at GLaWAC’s centre in Kalimna West. This event includes a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, as well as a guided tour of the cultural centre, gallery space and library.
This event forms part of the ‘Waterfront: GLaWAC’ series – a three-part public program including Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, panel discussion on water rights and a guided Walk on Country.
Official launch of the Waterfront program in East Gippsland.
Waterfront is proudly presented by Centre for Architecture Victoria | Open House Melbourne, in partnership with Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and East Gippsland Shire Council. Waterfront is part of Melbourne Design Week 2021, an initiative of the Victorian Government in collaboration with the NGV.
