Description

Young & Jackson Hotel, originally the Princes Bridge Hotel, was first licensed in 1861. On August 1st, 1875, the license was taken over by Henry Figsby Young and Thomas Joshua Jackson. In the same year on May 1st, the painting 'Chloe' debuted at the Paris Salon. 150 years later the names Young & Jackson and Chloe have become intertwined in Melbourne's psyche as generations of Melburnians pass through the doors of Y&J to gather and socialise, celebrate and commiserate and meet before and review after—always under the watchful eye of Chloe, the queen of the bar room wall.
