LOBBY: Art + Architecture 2025

+ Add to Itinerary

Description

The Lobby. The transitional zone between the public and the private, where the mitigation and expression of movement from one side to the other can become something all its own -- a zone for encounters, art, and identity within our urban fabric.

What's On

Venture beyond Melbourne’s bustling CBD streets and into the lobbies of its iconic commercial buildings and galleries.

Led by art advisor, Helen Sweatman, this walking tour examines the relationship between art and architecture, its form and function, and the profound impact that this relationship has had on the urban landscape of Australia’s cultural capital.

Brought to you with the generous support of our friends and partners, our Summer Fun(draisers) offer new and special opportunities as well as returning crowd favourites. These intimate, limited capacity talks + tours will take you up close and behind-the-scenes with design experts, all the while making a valued contribution to Open House Melbourne.
