Building Description

Bree Architects Studio is located in an old corner store on the edge of the Bendigo CBD. The original subdivision of the site can be traced back to 1924 and historically the building has always operated as a corner store under various proprietors.

Having lived across the road for the past 12 years, architects Johanne and Joost van Bree identified an opportunity to revitalise an unloved urban relic and transform the modest building into a new base for their architectural practice.

The renovation process entailed reinstating the verandah and beautifying the street presence, as well as creating a functional, modern workspace that brings together the old and new.
