2018 Heritage Address: ‘Why Modernism Matters’ with Tim Ross
As part of the Open House Melbourne July Program, the Heritage Address returns on 17 July 2018 – posing the question: ‘why does Modernism matter?’
Tim Ross is funny. He also loves modernist buildings. Through his social media presence, documentaries such as Streets of Your Town, and his stand-up shows, he has been a remarkable advocate for Australian Modernism.
As part of Open House Melbourne’s public program in 2018, Tim Ross will deliver the Heritage Council of Victoria’s annual Heritage Address, posing the question: ‘why does Modernism matter?’
Expect a dose of passion, some laughs, and plenty of insight as Tim explores the threats to these buildings, how we can recognise their value before they are lost and how the general public’s appreciation can grow for this overlooked period of Australia’s architectural history.
The Heritage Address is an annual lecture given by a prominent individual on matters relating to our heritage. It is supported by the Heritage Council of Victoria as part of the Open House Melbourne July Program. The full program will be announced 21 July 2018. Stay tuned to our email news to find out more.
