38 Albermarle Street
Description
Completed in July 2022, 38 Albermarle Street is home to 73 households. Designed by Fieldwork, this award-winning building is operationally carbon neutral and includes passive and community-minded design elements to enhance environmental performance and neighbourly connections. At the heart of the design is an open-air walkway that brings crossflow ventilation and dual-aspect natural light to residents’ homes. The design integrates and retains the site’s former wool store building, designed by Australian architect Harry Norris. Downstairs, a sustainable neighbourhood café designed by Six Degrees serves as a flexible-use space for residents and the broader neighbourhood to make their own.
What's On
We will be hosting guided tours through 38 Albermarle Street in Kensington, our first project that features our purchase pathway to home ownership. Along the way, our team will be speaking to the wider change happening in Kensington as it transitions from an inner-west industrial pocket to a precinct for new housing innovation. We will be speaking to Kensington’s history and future, and tie in global narratives on urban regeneration as explored by our publication, Assemble Papers, as part of the series Radical Renewal.
Children's Activities
Children are most welcome to join our event accompanied by their parent or caregiver, however the content may be largely targeted towards children aged 14 years and above.
