Alicia Frankovich’s The Eye at Brunswick Baths

Description

The Eye is a situation at the Brunswick Baths that works with a swimming pool environment to imagine rising waters, the body and the elements in a conglomerate space where everyone is enveloped in the situation. An eerie silence, a conversation, actions; this work stages planetary affects in ways that haunt and inspire, in a navigational mode where we are made to think about the nebulous space where bodies dwell, where things are going and how these spaces can be traversed under current planetary conditions.

Brunswick Baths is one of the seven sites featured in Take Hold of the Clouds, a curated exhibition for the Weekend that embeds responsive works within Melbourne’s most-loved architectural spaces.
