Craft Victoria is a leading not-for-profit arts organisation dedicated to supporting and championing contemporary artists and makers working across the diverse field of craft. Through ambitious creative programming, the commissioning of public artworks, a dedicated retail space, and a robust program of public engagement, education and brand partnerships, Craft Victoria plays a vital role in Melbourne’s cultural landscape. 

Located on Watson Place, just off Flinders Lane in the Naarm/Melbourne CBD, Craft Victoria has occupied its current premises since 2017. The interior was designed by Melbourne-based architect Karen Abernethy, offering a refined and welcoming space that thoughtfully balances exhibition and retail. 

What's On

During Open House Melbourne 2026, visitors to Craft Victoria will encounter Camp Stove, the organisation’s annual First Peoples–led exhibition curated by Kate ten Buuren. Presented in the main gallery, the exhibition explores Queer Blak survivance, offering insight into First Nations perspectives, storytelling and material practice. 

In the Vitrine gallery, works by Em Frank and Miles Dunne explore moments of intrigue and beauty through experimental approaches to glass and ceramics. Visitors can also experience Craft Victoria’s Craft Maker Showcase retail space featuring contemporary Australian practitioners, highlighting innovation, material experimentation and the cultural relevance of craft. Craft Victoria staff will be present to provide context on the exhibitions, artists and space.
