Heritage Address: Michael Veitch

Description

Best-selling author, actor, and historian Michael Veitch delivers the Heritage Council of Victoria’s annual Heritage Address to close the Open House Melbourne July Weekend 2023.

Through his own research and experience as a passionate, long-time resident, Michael will recount some of the more bizarre proposals that nearly befell our city – from the near demolition of Flinders Street Station and Town Hall to city planners’ past obsessions with underground tunnel networks.

Join Michael as he reflects on fascinating tales of the city’s heritage – the battles lost and won and the many near misses along the way.

Michael's address will be followed by a Q+A with Heritage Council of Victoria's Chair Professor Philip Goad.

The Heritage Address is an annual lecture given on matters relating to our heritage. It is presented by the Heritage Council of Victoria as part of the Open House Melbourne July Weekend.
