Discover Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi, our first project in Coburg. Named in consultation with Wurundjeri Elders, its Woi-Wurrung name means “All of us”, reflecting the building’s spirit of community and connection.

Designed by award-winning architects Kennedy Nolan with landscape by Amanda Oliver Gardens, the building features a distinctive red brick façade and three vibrant commercial spaces at street level. Inside, it offers 48 thoughtfully designed homes, including lofty SoHo-style apartments and Nightingale’s popular small-footprint Teilhaus homes.

Located on Sydney Road, Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi supports a sustainable urban lifestyle, with local amenities, green spaces, schools, and public transport all nearby. What's On

Visitors to Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi will be guided through the building by team members from Nightingale Housing or Kennedy Nolan, hearing first-hand about the architectural intent behind this distinctive Coburg project.

The tour will visit an apartment and the shared spaces central to all Nightingale projects—areas designed to foster connection and improve wellbeing. Along the way, visitors will learn what makes a Nightingale project unique, from its approach to financial, environmental and social sustainability to its commitment to creating long-term, functional communities within vibrant, connected neighbourhoods.

The tour offers an inside look at how thoughtful design can balance privacy and community, sustainability and comfort, and affordability and beauty. Visitors will come away with a deeper understanding of what “density done well” looks like, where people, place, and purpose come together to create a new approach to  inner-city living.
