Spring Place: Heritage tour
Description
Join heritage specialist Suellen Hunter, who leads the City of Melbourne’s Hoddle Grid Heritage Review to protect heritage in the CBD, for a fascinating tour of the once notorious red light district known as ‘Little Lon’.
On the tour, discover the buildings and archaeological artefacts that form what is now Spring Place, including the Black Eagle Hotel from 1852, a rare surviving cottage from 1876, Mission to the Streets and Lanes from 1894/1913, Elms Family Hotel from 1925, the Oddfellow Hotel from 1853 and archaeological displays at 50 Lonsdale Street and 271 Spring Street.
