Description
Temperance Hall is a lodging and lecture hall originally completed by the Emerald Hill Total Abstinence Society in 1888. Since 2016 it has been home to the leading Australian dance and interdisciplinary arts company, Phillip Adams BalletLab (PABL)—a champion for LGBTQIA+ artistic ambition and performances. PABL hosts a curated program of groundbreaking contemporary performances and arts activities such as rehearsals, residencies, exhibitions, community events and private functions.
What's On
Temperance Hall’s Artistic Director Phillip Adams will lead a tour of the historic building and speak of his affiliation with the stunning space. Throughout the day, a screening of SICK will be projected in the Main Hall. SICK is a cross-generational collaborative dance performance that premiered at Temperance Hall in February as part of Midsumma Festival. Performed by award-winning performers Ryan New and Phillip Adams, SICK critiques and challenges the expectations of artists – and everyone – living with disability.
