University of Melbourne, Southbank Campus: The Ian Potter Southbank Centre

Description

The Ian Potter Southbank Centre is the home of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Opened in 2019, the building is home to state-of-the-art teaching, learning, rehearsal and performance spaces. The building was designed by leading architect John Wardle, who received awards including the Australian Institute Architects Gold Medal 2020 and the Award for Educational Architecture, AIA Victorian Chapter 2020 in recognition of his firm’s work. The project was made possible with the support of the University of Melbourne, The Ian Potter Foundation, The Myer Foundation and family and the Victorian Government.

What's On

Kenneth Myer Auditorium and Hanson Dyer Hall will feature a program of performance pieces throughout the day. Visitors are also welcome to join guided tours of the building throughout the day.

Running for 45 minutes for groups of 20. Please arrive five minutes before your allotted time.
Bookings required. Tour admission price $5.
