Williamstown Botanic Gardens
During the Gold Rush, Williamstown residents petitioned the government of the time for the establishment of a public park. Today, the Williamstown Botanic Gardens are one of Victoria’s most intact and beloved botanic gardens.
Postcards from the Gardens—Using the Williamstown Botanic Gardens archive, we’ll explore the early 1900’s craze for postcards. Visitors will tour the Gardens revisiting views featured in vintage postcards and discover what these images and intriguing handwritten messages can tell us about moments in time and how they can help us restore and manage historic gardens.
