Albanian Mosque, Carlton North
+ Add to ItineraryDescription
Melbourne's first mosque, the Albanian Australian Islamic Society (AAIS) mosque, serves the local Albanian Muslim community as well as Muslims of the inner north of Melbourne.
With a multi-purpose room and social room, the site is used for prayer, lectures and community gatherings. The largest gatherings are during the holy month of Ramadan and observation of the two Eid festivals. The minaret stands as a beacon of the mosque and the Islamic house of worship.
What's On
Hosted by AAIS volunteers, informal tours will be taken through the mosque, multi-purpose room and social room and will include a glimpse of the renovations being done to the new ablution area and courtyard. Visitors will also be able to see the AAIS History Exhibition and see one of the five daily prayers performed by members of the congregation. Light refreshments will be provided.
Children's Activities
There will be a children’s table with colouring activities.
