Whether you are an arts aficionado, a military or history buff or just love the mystery of a murder, come for a walking tour of the Brighton General Cemetery and be introduced to its many colourful characters and their stories.
What's On
Join us for a guided walk to learn about the interesting people buried within the walls of the cemetery, and learn why the cemetery is a historical place of local, state and national importance.
Additional informational booklets and pamphlets will be available to purchase.
Children's Activities
The tour includes a visit to the first cemetery burial of a 10-month-old girl and a gentle discussion of how Victorians had high infant mortality. Children 16 & under should be always supervised within SMCT grounds.

Bookings
No bookings required. Tour group capacity is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meeting Point
Free unrestricted parking is available on North Road & Hawthorn Road. Meet your tour guide by The Lodge at the centre of the cemetery. Self-guided walk notes are available at The Lodge. Sensible footwear is required due to the historical uneven paths.

There are toilet facilities with grab bars, though they are not easily accessible by wheelchairs. The historical paths are not always wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Alternate routes may be available by emailing us at info@brightoncemetorians.org
