CHEAP-SKATE at Moe Skatepark

Description

CHEAP-SKATE is the solo project of Blaike Murphy, a garage-rock artist from Gippsland.

Since launching in 2022, CHEAP-SKATE has shared the stage with The Smith Street Band, Gyroscope, Rum Jungle, The Reytons and The Bennies, released the debut album Remember You Will Die, and won Triple J Unearthed’s NYE on the Hill competition.

Earlier this year, Murphy launched CHEAP-YEAR—a project to release new music every week for an entire year. Working out of a garage studio, Murphy writes, records, mixes and masters songs, collaborations and experiments, creating a living document of an artist building a career in real time.

The project has already reached audiences through Australian Idol, Triple J, Rage, Triple M, ABC News and WIN News, while continuing to grow through relentless touring, word of mouth and direct fan connection. At a time when much of the music industry feels increasingly polished, CHEAP-SKATE has become known for doing things differently.
