This self-guided tour features both public and private projects that contribute to Melbourne’s unique character and urban culture. Selected by senior members of council’s City Design team, the tour encompasses heritage preservation, contemporary architecture, landscape architecture and fine-grain street activation.
Follow the route outlined on the map or take a detour to explore other suggested projects that demonstrate design excellence.
What's On
This self-guided tour explores a selection of award-winning projects—both old and new—that demonstrate how architecture and design has evolved in the city.
Visitors can download a PDF or collect a map from the Open House Melbourne Info Hub to explore sites across the municipality during the weekend and after.
Children's Activities
This is a great self-guided tour for young people who are interested in design and architecture. The suggested route and detours can be explored by children with friends and family.
