Designing Cultural Spaces & Precincts

What makes a cultural precinct sing? How do you design a theatre or concert hall for the 21st century – and beyond? And how does an architect harness Melbourne’s chaotic creativity to bricks and mortar?

Join the leading architects behind some of the Melbourne Arts Precinct’s most iconic buildings, as they discuss the evolution of this creative neighbourhood, and reflect upon the art of designing cultural spaces.

This special event, hosted by Melbourne Theatre Company and the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, features Meaghan Dwyer (John Wardle Architects), Ian McDougall (ARM Architects) and Kerstin Thompson (Kerstin Thompson Architects) in conversation with journalist Ray Edgar.
