Koorie Heritage Trust—Birrarung Building
+ Add to ItineraryDescription
Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT) worked extensively with a design collaboration (led by Lyons) between First Nations architect Jefa Greenaway of Greenaway Architects, Lyons and Architecture Associates to develop a considered and beautiful plan for the building interior design and fit-out that reflects Country and place, and that responds in a culturally sensitive way to both organisational and First Peoples community needs and values.
The stand-alone First Peoples arts and cultural centre is a first of its kind in an Australian capital city. The whole building experience is reflective of First Peoples' connection to Country and culture.
Come inside to find out why KHT's building has won awards for this new design and expansion, including the 2024 City of Melbourne City Design Award, two category award wins at the 2024 Victorian Architecture Awards and Excellence in Fitout Awards in the 2024 Master Builders Victoria Award.
What's On
