Foodbank Victoria Community Food Centre
+ Add to ItineraryDescription
Foodbank Victoria is the oldest and largest food relief organisation in the state, supporting people in times of disaster or financial hardship since the Great Depression. In May 2024, we opened our Community Food Centre in Morwell, a large-scale food hub designed to support Gippsland families and households doing it tough.
Built in partnership with the Victorian Government, the human-centric facility is designed to provide food relief with dignity and choice. The site features a self-serve community supermarket, an in-house cafe, and an industrial kitchen that serves up seasonal meals, coffees and community food programs that foster connection, belonging and kitchen confidence.
The Community Food Centre also supports local food distribution by sourcing and sharing food with charity partners, schools and emergency relief agencies. Our centre is ready to respond in times of crisis or natural disaster.
What's On
Join Foodbank staff and volunteers for a guided tour through our Community Food Centre in Morwell. Learn about Foodbank’s 96-year history and discover what it takes to feed 76,000 Victorians every single day. Whether you’re curious about supply chains, food sustainability or social impact, a visit to Foodbank provides a look at food relief in action. At the end of the tour, help us pack an emergency food hamper, and make a real difference to a family who needs support.
