Preston Level Crossing Removal Project

+ Add to Itinerary

Presented by: Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) + Tract Consultants

Description

The Bell to Preston Level Crossing Removal Project showcases a refreshed, vibrant backdrop to the diverse and bustling suburb of Preston. The project sees two kilometres of elevated railway bookended by two new railway precincts, enhanced by a playful civic design of connective pathways, re-wilded and vibrant open spaces and public amenities designed for gathering, play, relaxation, and exercise. Meaningful cultural engagement with Preston’s Wurundjeri heritage and its living systems are at the heart of the Preston Level Crossing Removal project, helping to cultivate healthy, cohesive and inclusive communities.

What's On

Join us for a special site tour to explore the publicly accessible Bell and Preston Station precincts, guided by members of the project team. They will share insights behind the community, the design and development process, and how the transformation of this transport corridor has reshaped the neighbourhood.

Children's Activities

There is a play space for children between Herbert St and Bruce St, as well as a nature play area between Warrs Ave and Showers St.

We note these activities will not be supervised or programmed by the collaborator and project team, however these facilities will be publicly accessible.
