Taking beef with b̩ton brut: Melbourne and Brutalism

Throughout the month of May, Open House Melbourne pays homage to one of the most challenging architectural styles: brutalism. We are hosting a series of screenings, talks and tours exploring the social significance of the style, and ask the question: What is the new, new brutalism?

Melbourne Architours will take you on a walking journey through a variety of building types, including a carpark, cinema, bank branch and a union headquarters. Along the way we encourage you to (re)consider your reactions to brutalism.

We will finish at 11.30am within the neighbourhood, where we invite you to continue the conversation over a coffee/drink.

Presented by Melbourne Architours and supported by the National Trust and Open House.
