Architect: Lyons Architects 2019

University of Melbourne Southbank Campus | UoMS04

Building Description

The Hub building is the epicentre of student activity on the University of Melbourne Southbank campus offering student support services, kitchen facilities, digital studios, study nooks and spaces anchored around the new Southbank library that houses a depth of cultural collections and resources for our students and staff.

The Louise Hanson-Dyer Music Collection now over 100 years old, has supported the original Faculty of Music (now Fine Arts and Music) through the decades. Considered to be one of the finest music collections in Australia, it has now moved to the Southbank Library and sits with the Lenton Parr Visual and Performing Arts Collection. A rich collection of books, sound and video in these art forms, it was founded with the National Gallery School Library collection when the Victorian College of the Arts was established in 1972. Together, these collections create one of the finest visual and performing arts library in Australia.
