Little Lane Early Learning Centre Glen Iris

+ Add to Itinerary

Presented by: Milton Architects

Description

Little Lane Early Learning Centre Glen Iris is a reimagination of early learning within an urban context.

The centre, located on Malvern Road in Glen Iris, appeals to a child’s sense of wonder, being centred around a large spiral ramp that joins the three levels of play areas and bathes classrooms in sunlight. It provides the first learning environment for children from six weeks to four years old and is designed to accommodate the Reggio Emilia Approach to children’s education that emphasises the individuality of each child.

The building's exterior is expressed with a series of vertical battens that dance around the façade and improve thermal performance. Inside, large classrooms and open-air play areas provide first-class comfort and support the curious, creative development of young kids.

The building was completed in the second half of 2024 and is now fully operational. It features four storeys, including an underground basement carpark with access from Glenarm Road and a rooftop garden with city views.
