Mission Whitten Oval—Western Bulldogs Football Club
+ Add to ItineraryDescription
In 2025 the Western Bulldogs celebrates 100 years in the VFL/AFL, and what better way to celebrate the incredible history and legacy of the club and its powerful connection to the people of the West than with a visit to the newly redeveloped Mission Whitten Oval?
Following an extensive three-year, $78 million reimagining of the entire precinct, the spiritual home of the Western Bulldogs reopened in mid-2024 featuring a 1,800-square-metre multi-purpose indoor training facility, the largest gym in the AFL, a 25-metre-long lap pool, plunge pools and sauna; rebuilt Whitten Stand, administration and football department facilities and the creation of a new Bulldogs Museum; a 400-person Western Grounds function space overlooking the oval; dedicated program spaces for the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation; a new Women’s Health and Leadership Hub; upgraded oval playing surface and new lighting towers rated to broadcast quality.
