Description

Australian Print Workshop is an internationally recognised centre for contemporary printmaking which has been operating as a not-for-profit organisation for 44 years. Its world-class facilities include custom-designed studios fitted with a range of specialist printing presses and equipment; a modern gallery space; suite of offices and a purpose-built visiting artist apartment.

In 2008, the award-winning Melbourne-based architecture studio Jackson Clements Burrows was commissioned to revitalise Australian Print Workshop’s heritage-listed building. The brief was to enhance public engagement by creating a stronger connection to the street, maximise use of the space and reflect the organisation’s stature as a leading cultural institution.
