OPEN Circle at Artbank

Last night Open House Melbourne launched its new donor program OPEN Circle, at Artbank’s Collingwood gallery and collection space.

The intimate evening was an opportunity for OPEN Circle members and guests to learn about Artbank’s current exhibition, their wider program and explore behind the scenes of the space and residency.

Artbank Director Zoë Rodriguez detailed the 40+ year Australian Government initiatives two core objectives, to provide direct support to Australian contemporary artists through the acquisition of their work and to promote the value of Australian contemporary art to the broader public. Alongside, Artbank curator Paul Adair presented their current exhibition Double Take and Edition Office Director Kim Bridgland provided special insight into the design and architectural process for the refurbished Artbank site (2018).

The highlight of the evening was a guided tour of the residency space, where guests were able to scale the interiors and explore the hundreds of sculptures, paintings, etchings and other media available for rent.

We look forward to bringing you more of Artbank in the near future.
