Designed by GW Watson initially as the Post Office, the building served many purposes during the 20th century and now proudly houses the Bendigo Visitor Centre.

The grandeur of the Historic Post Office is demonstrated in the exterior details with gargoyles and lions adorning all faces of this magnificent building. These intricacies are replicated throughout the internal spaces and can be explored during Open House Bendigo; a unique opportunity to see an architectural masterpiece created in 1887 by the state government to signify Bendigo’s prominence in Victoria’s prosperity.

Fully restored to its former glory in 1986, this treasured grand old dame continues to provide a warm welcome to all, just as it would have over 125 years ago.
