Description

Join us for a talk + walk focused on key sites of heritage significance and local interest in South Yarra in the City of Stonnington. Learn about the development of the suburb from the 1840s when white colonists crossed the river by punts, to the present day, with the arrival of high-rise luxury living on the famous Chapel Street.

What's On

We will begin in the meeting room at the modernist masterpiece that is the Toorak/South Yarra Library for a heritage talk by Stonnington Council staff. We will shine a spotlight on some key heritage sites in South Yarra, including the Yuncken Freeman-designed library, then walk along Toorak Road to see some of these sites firsthand.
