Dr Norman Day and Dr Kirsten Day share the ideas and inspirations behind ANZCA House, revealing how the building’s design thoughtfully connects with its historic neighbour, Ulimaroa.
As part of Open House Melbourne 2025 ‘Stories of the City’, the Geoffrey Kaye Museum of Anaesthetic History invited Dr Norman Day, architect, educator and writer and Dr Kirsten Day, registered architect, senior lecturer and educator from the University of Melbourne for a panel discussion focusing on designing ANZCA House.
Held in the ANZCA House auditorium, the panel was hosted by museum curator Veronica Dominiak.
In this recording Dr Norman and Dr Kirsten Day reflect on designing this contemporary space. The conversation explores the vision, ideas and materials behind the building’s design and how it complements the heritage building Ulimaroa.
