Centre for Architecture Victoria

The Centre for Architecture Victoria | Open House Melbourne is our new umbrella organisation for all things Open House in Victoria. The Centre for Architecture Victoria is an organisation with a big ambition – to inform the public about the importance of design in the built environment and why it matters to the future liveability of our cities. It is a concept we have been developing over recent years as Open House Melbourne has grown, developing additional events and programs such as Open House Bendigo, Open House Ballarat, Modern Melbourne, This is Public, Waterfront (part of Melbourne Design Week) and The Naked Architect series.

On 15th August 2020, the National Trust of Australia (Victoria) in association with the Centre for Architecture Victoria | Open House Melbourne, will launch WWII at Home: Response, Reflection and Rejuvenation, marking the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII for Australians – otherwise known as Victory in the Pacific Day (VP Day). This digital event looks at the birth of modern Australia as a result of the impact of WWII, and how this is reflected in our contemporary built environment.
